Efficient Plumbing Design

Reduce Water Consumption Through Thoughtful Layout

Saving water is going to become increasingly important, and choices made in the design stages of a home can have impacts on water and energy use throughout the lifetime of the building. One of the simplest design strategies that will reap water and energy savings is to use compact, or central core plumbing.

In this design strategy, keeping your plumbing areas (kitchen/bathroom/laundry) near one another will reduces the time it takes for hot water to reach it's destination, saving on both water and energy.  Less water is lost down the drain while waiting for it to get hot, and your hot water heater can work more efficiently, too.

The green department and your Deltec designer can work with you to incorporate compact plumbing into your dream home designs.
